When my son was in Kindergarten he was having some trouble with finding his words and expressing his feelings both at home and at school. Often we forget about the mental health of our little ones and how difficult it can be for them to sort out all of their big/current problems and frustrations. I was frequently asked to talk to his teachers about his behaviour in class and to strategize ways to help him thrive.
I found these books and immediately fell in love with them. They are simply written with big beautifully illustrated pictures that helped me talk about some big topics like “what to do when you have a problem” or ” what about when your ideas are different then other people’s”. These books sparked questions, ideas and conversations. Most of all I love their message of embracing your issue and working with it until it turns into something beautiful.
These books suggestions are for our #minitribe! Both written by Kobi Yamada and illustrated by Mae Besom.
