Manual Osteopathic Practitioner

Emily Hobbes, Manual Osteopathic Practitioner in Burlington

Meet Emily

Emily is a Manual Osteopathic Practitioner with a longstanding interest in movement, anatomy and the interconnected nature of the body. A former national rhythmic gymnast and professional dancer, she has spent much of her life exploring how the body moves, adapts and finds greater ease and freedom in movement.

Before pursuing osteopathy, Emily spent more than a decade teaching Pilates, helping people develop greater body awareness and improve the way they move. Her growing interest in anatomy and desire to better support her clients eventually led her to the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, where she completed her Master in Practice of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences in 2022.

Emily takes a gentle, individualized approach to treatment, recognizing that the body’s structures and systems do not function independently of one another. Her osteopathic treatment considers the body as a whole, with the goal of addressing areas of restriction and supporting improved movement, balance and function.

She has experience working with clients experiencing a variety of concerns, including chronic and acute discomfort, gastrointestinal disturbances, migraines and scoliosis. Treatment is adapted to the individual, taking into consideration their history, current concerns and how their body is functioning as a whole.

Emily’s extensive background in movement gives her a unique perspective in the treatment room. Her experience as a gymnast, dancer and Pilates instructor contributes to her understanding of movement, posture, body awareness and physical function, while her osteopathic training allows her to approach these areas within a broader whole-body framework.

Emily is a registered member of OSTCAN (Osteopathy Canada) and continues to bring a warm, calm and thoughtful approach to her work with patients.

Outside of the clinic, Emily enjoys hiking and camping, as well as curling up with a good book and spending time with her dogs, Roma and Neville.
