Meet the Team

Meet Naheed Atcha, Registered Acupuncturist (R. AC.)

Naheed is a wonderful addition to the space! We look forward to introducing our community of clients to the world of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture! Naheed has a calm, nurturing spirit and we know you will find that she fits right into the team.

Naheed has been involved in healthcare for over 20 years, but long before a career in health and wellness, she knew she was destined to be in a helping profession. From rescuing worms after a rainstorm, to cradling injured birds, to volunteer work at the hospital and Red Cross: Naheed’s innate compassionate nature helped her realize that helping people was her calling (even while studying Romantic Poets and Classical Greek declensions!) This lead her to her first healthcare career as a Registered Massage Therapist.

Graduating from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 1999 and registering with the College of Massage Therapist of Ontario in 2000, Naheed worked as an RMT seeing a variety of individuals, helping give relief from injury and pain and assisting those managing chronic illness. Naheed also studied Palliative Massage and provided end of life care.

12 years into her career as an RMT, Naheed was introduced to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) while on her own wellness journey. While her own body and spirit began to heal, her fascination with and love of TCM began. She decided to pursue studies in TCM Acupuncture and after 3 years, 2000+ hours and 4 licensing exams with the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine Academy (formerly SSC), she certified in 2016 as a Registered Acupuncturist and licensed with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario in 2017.

What fascinated her the most about this healing art, is the whole body, mind and spirit approach to wellness. “As an acupuncturist, I am able to treat not only concerns of the musculoskeletal system to alleviate pain and discomforts, but I am able to help my patients heal internally as well”. The scope of an Registered Acupuncturist is broad allowing for internal and external medicine treatments. As a Registered Acupuncturist, Naheed uses acupuncture/acupressure, fire cupping and GuaSha as the main clinical modalities. She will also advise patients on therapeutic TCM medicinal diet modifications, meditation/QiGong recommendations and sleep habits.

Naheed welcomes all patients, but has a keen interest in treating those experiencing perimenopausal/menopausal symptoms and those suffering with anxiety, insomnia and digestive issues. Because TCM and Acupuncture have an effect on the entire body including: the musculoskeletal, endocrine, reproductive, digestive, nervous and circulatory systems, Naheed uses these tools to help the body, mind and spirit to work towards achieving your health and wellness goals.

When not in clinic serving the needs of her patients, Naheed is often home being a “mother of dragons”! Yep, she is a reptile enthusiast and has several 4 legged scaly babies! She also loves to read and garden in her off time and looks forward to planning a TransCanada road trip in the near future. She looks forward to introducing you to TCM and Acupuncture and assisting you in your health and wellness journey.
